Eric Schwartz is a Managing Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers National Assurance Health Services practice with 20 years of experience serving not-for-profit healthcare and higher education clients including academic medical centers, hospitals, physician group practices, managed care organizations, colleges and universities, research organizations, foundations and other not-for-profit organizations. Having focused his career on financial reporting and regulatory issues surrounding academic medical centers, health systems, colleges and universities, and nonprofit entities, he possesses deep knowledge of the technical accounting and regulatory practices for this sector.
Eric is the author of PwC’s annual “Academic Medical Center Financial and Operational Benchmarking” and co-author of “Keeping Current: Emerging issues and leading practices for today’s audit committees of healthcare organizations”, the “Financial and Accounting Guide for Not-for-Profit Organizations”, and PwC’s annual “Perspectives in Higher Education”.
Eric graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colby College in 1996 and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Boston University in 1997. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (“HFMA”), the Accounting and Regulatory Committee of the MA-RI Chapter of HFMA, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Eric also currently serves as a trustee at Brookhaven at Lexington, a continuing care retirement community located in Lexington, Massachusetts.
