Course description

How does an analysis of gender offer insight into pressing social justice concerns within the contemporary United States? This course considers how gendered perspectives offer new insight on four areas of contemporary activism the environment reproductive justice immigration and incarceration. Through readings from a wide variety of disciplines course lectures and in-class discussions students learn and put into practices the ways that a critical approach to the intersections of gender sexuality race and class provides important lessons for social and political change in the pursuit of social justice.
