Yvan Prkachin has a PhD in the History of Science from Harvard University (2018). His research focuses on the history of the mind, brain, and behavioral sciences, with an emphasis on the history of the modern brain sciences. His dissertation examines the role of the Montreal Neurological Institute and its various participants in creating the scientific, intellectual, and social underpinnings of modern neuroscience. He also teaches courses on the history of memory, deception, pain, and other neuroscientific topics, as well as courses in the history of technology and modern medicine. Prkachin has also helped teach courses in the history of psychiatry, Cold War science, and in the history of mind control and brainwashing.
