Course description

This beginning French course provides an introduction to French with emphasis on interpersonal communication and the interpretation and production of language in written and oral forms. Students engage in interactive communicative activities that provide rich exposure to the French and francophone language and culture. Students engage in the discussion and interpretation of various French media sources including video, images, music, and film. Each media source directs attention to how we approach personal, academic, professional, quotidian, and artistic encounters in the target language. Note: this course is the equivalent of the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences course French 10.
