Ali Shames-Dawson has taught grammar and writing in a variety of contexts over the last ten years. Most recently, she taught freshman expository writing at Rutgers University, and continues to teach grammar and writing for Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, a fifty-year-old nonprofit organization that provides excellent support to underserved high school students in Manhattan. Shames-Dawson regularly provides support to academic writers and journalists, and enjoys the breadth of learning that comes with editorial work.
